Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an acrylic operative for our client based in Normanton, West Yorkshire.


We are looking for a reliable and motivated Acrylic Operative to join our busy and friendly acrylic fabrication department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude to play a key role in producing and assembling high-quality acrylic components for our signage products.

Previous experience in acrylic fabrication, plastics processing, or a manufacturing environment would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

As an Acrylic Operative, you will work on a wide range of projects, fabricating and assembling acrylic components to exact specifications. You will be hands-on, using specialised tools and machinery for cutting, shaping, bonding, backing up panels, and finishing acrylic materials. You’ll also contribute to the successful delivery of outstanding results for our clients. We’re looking for someone who is flexible, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties

  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish acrylic components for signage and display products.
  • Accurately read and follow technical drawings, templates, and specifications.
  • Operate acrylic fabrication machinery safely and effectively, including panel backing processes.
  • Carry out tasks such as cutting, drilling, routing, bonding, panel backing, and polishing acrylic materials.
  • Ensure all completed work meets the required standards of quality, accuracy, and finish.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in acrylic fabrication, plastics processing, or a similar manufacturing environment is desirable (training provided for the right candidate).
  • Strong practical and hand skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible, reliable, and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work confidently with hand tools.

This is a temporary to Permanent contract

Hours Rotating: Monday to Friday 7am - 4.30pm - Friday 7am to 3pm

Monday to Friday 9am - 6.30pm - Friday 7am to 3pm
